Ivory fields and Persian repeats sit in a long lineage of textile design, from the tile workshops of the eastern Mediterranean to the print studios of mid-century Europe. The composition here works in that conversation, sized and recoloured for the modern room and produced on jacquard looms in Turkey that hold the original drawing at high fidelity.

The Persian composition was refined across multiple proofs in the ivory family before approval. The studio cared about how the geometry would behave under different lighting, the way contrast would shift between morning and evening, and how the pattern would scale to the room rather than to the sample.

The composition

The ivory field carries the work. Secondary tones sit close in value rather than competing, so the eye reads the pattern as one composition rather than as a layered surface. The Persian structure shows differently in morning and evening light, the surface catching highlight at low angles and flattening to a single colour plane at midday. The drawing was tuned to perform across that range of conditions.

The fibre

The yarn is heat-set polypropylene. The colour is fixed thermally rather than dyed onto the surface, which is what gives the rug its UV stability and its resistance to staining. Spills lift with a cloth, the pile recovers from furniture compression, and the surface does not shed in use.

The piece in a room

At 5'3" x 7'7" (160 × 231 cm) the rug sits in a primary bedroom under a queen bed with twelve to eighteen inches showing on either side, in a medium living room under the front legs of a sofa, or in a study laid full under desk and chair. The ivory register pairs with walnut, oak, and warm metals. The Persian drawing reads cleanly from any of those orientations because the composition was scaled to live at this format rather than scaled down from a larger original.

Weekly vacuum at any setting. Spills lift with a damp cloth before they set. The fibre is colour-locked so cleaning detergents do not strip the dye. Machine washable cold for stubborn marks.
