The pattern in this rug grew out of contemporary design studios working with the visual vocabulary of mid-century European geometry alongside the colour traditions of Anatolian weaving. A Persian classical pattern in pink, drawn so the densities open and tighten across the field rather than tiling repetitively, gives a room a considered ground that reads as a single composition rather than as a printed surface.

The studio worked the design in graphite and ink for several months before approving it for production. The colour palette was matched against architectural references rather than seasonal trends, which is why the rug holds across renovation cycles instead of dating to a single year. The intention was a piece that could carry the foot traffic of a working household without the maintenance burden of fine wool.

The fibre

Polypropylene yarn, heat-set so the colour is fixed by temperature rather than by a coating. The fibre resists wine, coffee, oil, and pet accidents at the molecular level, which is why a damp cloth handles most spills without any additional product. The pile lies flat under load and recovers when the load comes off, and the rug does not shed across years of use.

The composition

A single saturated pink ground carries the Persian classical pattern through subtle changes of tone. The composition relies on geometry rather than on colour contrast to organise the eye. The palette settles in next to oak floors, leather seating, and unbleached linen drapery. Strong patterns in the upholstery are the one thing to avoid.

The pile springs back from furniture compression after a few hours of relief, and the colour does not bleed when wet. The rug can be hosed down outdoors and air dried for a full reset every couple of years.
