The composition is asymmetric where most floral designs are symmetric. The shifting density across the field gives the rug a directional read that shows differently from each end of the room. The studio in Turkey ran the design through proofs in three colour families before locking the multi-tonal version, which was the variant where the asymmetry held best.

Studio work on the floral drawing took several months. The multi-tonal palette was chosen for its tonal stability across daylight and evening light; the geometry was tightened and loosened until the field carried at both close and distant viewing.

The composition

A multi-tonal ground holds the rug. The floral drawing sits inside it without forcing contrast, so the geometry registers as part of the field rather than printed on top. Sunlight falling across the rug brings out the secondary tones, and evening lamp light pushes the warmer values forward. The colour stability of the heat-set yarn means that read holds across the years rather than fading out.

The fibre

Polypropylene engineered to lock dye thermally. The fibre does not absorb spills the way a porous wool fibre does, and most household stains lift before they have a chance to set. Direct sunlight does not bleach the colour; furniture leaves no permanent compression marks.

The piece in a room

The 5'3" x 7'10" (160 × 239 cm) format anchors a flat living room, a guest bedroom, or a dining set for four. The floral drawing holds at conversational viewing distance and resolves cleanly when walked across. Pair with linen or cotton upholstery in close-value neutrals, a low coffee table that sits inside the rug perimeter, and curtain drops in a tone close to the rug ground rather than in contrast.

Care

Vacuum on standard setting weekly. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent for everyday spills. The heat-set fibre resists staining at the molecular level so most spills do not set. Cold machine wash if needed. Dries flat in around two hours. The rug is well suited to households with children, pets, or high-traffic areas where wool would show wear within a year or two.
