The transitional floral grew out of a long conversation between Persian court repeats and twentieth-century European interior taste. Scale was opened. Saturation was muted. Borders were softened. The motif in this rug carries that translated grammar.

The composition holds multi-tonal against a quieter ground. The drawing has been worked at a scale that reads at room distance, with the cadence opening at the edges and tightening through the centre. The studio refined the cartoon over several months before approving it for production at the loom.

The composition

The fibre

The fibre is heat-set polypropylene. The yarn is engineered so colour is locked in by temperature rather than by surface dye, which is why the saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment-printed work fades. The fibre also resists staining at the molecular level. Spilled wine, juice, oil, and coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed. The result is a wool-look surface with the practical durability the wool tier cannot match in a high-traffic family room.

The piece in a room

5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm) is the working scale for a flat living room, the seating side of an open-plan layout, or a primary bedroom under the foot of a king bed. The composition sits cleanly under a sofa and a coffee table without disappearing under furniture, and reads as a single considered field even when partially covered. Pairing with mid-tone walls keeps the saturation honest. Direct sunlight deepens the register over time rather than washing it out.

Vacuum weekly. Spot clean with a mild detergent and a clean damp cloth. Heat-set polypropylene resists staining at the molecular level, so most spills lift before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed. No professional cleaning required.
