Two weavers worked roughly four months on this 6 by 9 ft (183 by 274 cm) hand-knotted piece on a vertical loom in India. Soft hand-spun wool was tied with the asymmetric Persian knot onto a cotton warp at moderate density. The pile was left at low-to-medium height, somewhere between the long Beni Ourain pile and the short Persian classical pile, which is the working compromise that gives the rug its particular hand. Total labour runs to roughly eight weaver-months.

An ivory ground carrying the natural tonal variation of the wool clip. Dark brown geometric drawing in irregular linear and lozenge work runs across the field at calculated intervals; the geometry is freehand rather than from a precise cartoon, which is the structural sign of village-tradition source work.
