The vintage idiom takes a classical Persian or Anatolian drawing, then deliberately washes the colour back so the rug reads as if it has been on a floor for fifty years. The piece below uses that controlled erosion as a design choice rather than as accident.

The fibre

Heat-set polypropylene. The yarn is engineered so the colour is locked in by temperature rather than by surface dye, which is why the ivory register does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment printing fades. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level. Spilled wine, juice, oil, or coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set, and the pile stays flat under furniture without shedding.

The composition

The colour has been deliberately washed back, so the ivory field reads as if the rug had been on a floor for fifty years already. The pattern survives the wash. What changes is the saturation, which now sits in a register that almost any wall colour will hold. The slight wear at the edges is a controlled effect rather than damage, and the foundation underneath is unworn.
